BS 2002

for inquiry

Wacker Chemie AG

Description:
SILRES® BS 2002 is a water-thinnable, solventless emulsion, based on a mixture of silane and siloxane. Dilute solutions of SILRES® BS 2002 serve as highquality, general-purpose water repellents for impregnating and priming mineral surfaces. Properties SILRES® BS 2002 emulsion contains a stabilized mixture of silanes and siloxanes that are susceptible to hydrolysis. Hydrolysis occurs only after application to the substrate, which breaks the emulsion. Alcohol is released and the emulsion is converted into a silicone resin water repellent. SILRES® BS 2002 reduces the capillary absorption of the building which it has penetrated, but does not clog pores or capillaries. There is therefore little or no impairment of the building material´s ability to "breathe".

BS 29

for inquiry

Wacker Chemie AG

München Germany
Description:
SILRES® BS 29 is a water-thinnable mixture of silane, siloxane and synthetic resins. It is used in diluted form to impart both water repellency and oil repellency to inorganic substrates such as mineral construction materials. In this respect, it differs from conventional (mono-functional) water-repellents. The pores of the substrate remain open, the water vapor diffusion is hardly affected, if at all. Oil, grease, paint, etc. are easier to remove from surfaces that have been treated with SILRES® BS 29. Application - Treatment of floors of natural or synthetic stone, or unglazed ceramic tiles for easy care. - Treatment of window sills and table tops of natural or synthetic stone, or fibrous cement to avoid staining. - Treatment of facades of natural or synthetic stone, concrete, or fibrous cement in order to allow easier removal of dirt, grease, graffiti, posters, etc. from monuments, exterior and interior walls. - Water, oil and dirt repellent treatment of low-porosity natural stone, e. g. marble, travertine and granite.

Wacker Chemie AG

Description:
SILRES® BS 290 is a solventless silicone concentrate that is based on a mixture of silane and siloxane. SILRES® BS 290 is dilutable with organic solvents. Dilute solutions of SILRES® BS 290 in organic solvents serve as high-quality general-purpose water repellents for impregnating and priming mineral and highly alkaline substrates. Special features - good depth of penetration - high resistance to alkalis - tack-free drying - effective even on damp substrates - rapid development of water repellency After application to the mineral substrate, SILRES® BS 290 reacts with the atmospheric moisture or pore water in the substrate, thereby generating the active ingredient while liberating alcohol. The active ingredient greatly lowers the water absorbency of the substrate, which nevertheless retains a very high degree of water vapour permeability since neither pores nor capillaries are clogged.

Description:
SILRES® BS 38 is a solvent-based mixture of silane, siloxane and fluoropolymer (< C8). In diluted form, it serves to render inorganic substrates such as mineral construction materials water-repellent and oil-repellent. Unlike conventional impregnating agents, which display only a hydrophobic, i. e. water-repellent, effect, SILRES® BS 38 also exhibits an oleophobic, i. e. oilrepellent, effect. The pores of the substrate remain open, the water vapour diffusion is hardly affected, if at all. Oil, grease and paint, etc. can be more easily removed from surfaces that have been treated with SILRES® BS 38. Application - Treatment of facades of natural or synthetic stone, concrete, or fibrous cement in order to allow easier removal of dirt, grease, graffiti, posters, etc. from monuments, exterior and interior walls. - Water, oil and dirt repellent treatment of low-porosity natural stone, e. g. marble, travertine and granite. - Treatment of floors of natural or synthetic stone, or unglazed ceramic tiles for easy care. - Treatment of window sills and table tops of natural or synthetic stone, or fibrous cement to avoid staining.

K

for inquiry

Wacker Chemie AG

München Germany
Description:
SILRES® K is a solution of a methyl silicone resin in toluene. The silicone resin itself has a very high concentration of SiO2 (after complete oxidation: approx. 80% SiO 2, expressed in terms of solid resin [DSC]). It is therefore an ideal binder for applications where temperatures exceed 300°C. As SILRES® K evolves less smoke and offers greater binding strength, it is much superior to phenyl silicone resins. Special features - 80% SiO2 content, expressed in terms of solid resin - high binding strength - little smoke evolution on pyrolysis - excellent thermal stability
